Anne (Jan) White, a principal at Pasternak & Fidis,
P.C., concentrates in family law, including prenuptial agreements, separations,
divorces, custody, child and spousal support, valuation and division of assets
such as pensions, financial accounts and investments, stock options, real estate
and businesses. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia,
Virginia, and North Carolina and is trained in the collaborative law process.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke
University, where she was an Angier B. Duke Scholar. She received her J.D. from
Stanford University School of Law. Ms. White previously practiced litigation
with the law firm of Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C. and was an Adjunct
Law Professor at The American University. She is on the Board of the Collaborative
Law Alliance--DC and is a member of Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals
and the Collaborative Law Society of MD, DC and VA.
She has appeared as a divorce commentator on Fox Morning News
and has lectured on divorce, family law and divorce tax issues for the District
of Columbia Bar and the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education
of Lawyers (MICPEL). She conducts a District of Columbia Bar program for attorneys,
Family Law Around the Beltway: Law and Strategy, a sophisticated course
on practicing family law in all three jurisdictions. She is a mentor to court
custody evaluators in the Montgomery County, Maryland Circuit Court and previously
mentored pro bono custody cases for the District of Columbia Bar. She
volunteers at the District of Columbia Bar Family Law Self Help Clinic.
She is a member of the Bar Association Family Law Sections
of the three jurisdictions and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
