the country,
Jamie S. Lapin has provided skilled and practical guidance as a financial
consultant for over 25 years. Learning by personal experience of the greatly
under served needs of people going through divorce, Jamie obtained the necessary
additional training to become a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. With this
background, she is able to help clients through the “business” of
divorce, and address the ramifications of settlement decisions not just today,
but also 5, 10 or 20 years ahead. Jamie also works closely with attorneys, family
counselors, mediators, and others to support the whole range of needs of clients
during divorce, greatly increasing the likelihood of successful outcomes in
even the most difficult situations. Jamie was one of the area's first Certified
Divorce Financial Analysts to embrace the Collaborative model, and participates
with several local Collaborative Divorce groups.
Jamie is a Registered Investment Advisor, a frequent writer and speaker for media as well as local resources. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Institute of Certified Financial Planners, Institute of Certified Divorce Financial Analysts, Women Business Owners, and the Financial Trainer for the MICPEL mediation program as well as the local 20-hour divorce mediation training for lawyers and mediators. The mother of two college students, she is also active in the Maryland Commission for Women. Jamie is a native of Washington, DC.
