Dr. John Lefkowits is a licensed psychologist and divorce coach. He is the director of Suburban Psychology, LLC and has over fifteen years of experience. Dr. Lefkowits completed his initial training in Collaborative Law in 2006 and his advanced training the following year. He completed his mediation training in 1998. Dr. Lefkowits is on the board of the Howard County Collaborative Professionals and has active cases in both Montgomery and Howard Counties.
Dr. Lefkowits has penned two articled for The Maryland Psychologist on Collaborative Practice. He has been a regular speaker on topics related to psychological well being and divorce to professional groups, law schools and the general public. In addition, he has been involved in nearly twenty collaborative cases.
As part of his clinical duties with Suburban Psychology, LLC, Dr. Lefkowits works with individuals, couples and families. He has extensive experience with a broad range of issues such as anxiety, depression, job stress and addictions. He has also developed a sub-specialty in working with step and blended families.
Dr. Lefkowits has held clinical faculty appointments at the University of Maryland Medical School, George Washington University and Loyola College. He was also the sports psychologist for University of Maryland Sport Medicine.
