Dr. Suzan Stafford is a psychologist in private practice in Washington, DC.  Since 1983 she has been serving adults individually, in couples and in groups.  She specializes in couples counseling and trauma related issues.

Dr. Stafford graduated with a doctorate in Counseling and Human Development from the George Washington University.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso and her Masters of Arts in Psychology from the Catholic University of America.

Dr. Stafford has been involved in community disaster response for more than 12 years.  She is a volunteer with the American Red Cross, is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Disaster Response Network Advisory Board, and is Coordinator of the Disaster Response Network in the District of Columbia.

Dr. Stafford has done many disaster response trainings for professionals and government organizations.  She has also taught many workshops and classes in a number of areas of mental health to both professionals and others.

She is currently working with Collaborative Divorce groups in the District and Maryland.
