Dr. Suzan Stafford is a psychologist in private practice
in Washington, DC. Since 1983 she has been serving adults individually, in couples
and in groups. She specializes in couples counseling and trauma related issues.
Dr. Stafford graduated with a doctorate in Counseling and Human Development
from the George Washington University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso and her Masters of Arts in
Psychology from the Catholic University of America.
Dr. Stafford has been involved in community disaster response for more than
12 years. She is a volunteer with the American Red Cross and is Coordinator
of the Disaster Response Network in the District of Columbia. She is also a
Board member and the president of the Capital Area Crisis Response Team. She
coordinates and provides training for professional groups and government organizations
in disaster response, as well as responding as a team member to local crises.
Dr. Stafford has taught many workshops and classes in a number of areas of mental
health to both professionals and others. She is currently teaching a class in
Couples Problem Solving for Kaiser Permanente.
