Vicki Viramontes-LaFree, is a principal in the law firm
of Pasternak & Fidis, P.C. She practices exclusively in family and domestic
relations law. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia
and New Mexico. Ms. Viramontes-LaFree graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University
of New Mexico in 1991 and received her J.D. from the University of New Mexico
in 1994. She serves as a volunteer with the District of Columbia’s Family
Court Self-Help Center. Ms. Viramontes-LaFree has taught continuing legal education
programs on division of retirement benefits at divorce for military and international
organizations. She has also served as a faculty member for advanced training
on financial aspects of divorce including retirement benefits, property transfers,
and taxes for mediators of the District of Columbia’s Multi-Door Dispute
Resolution Division. Ms. Viramontes-LaFree has received training in divorce
mediation and in collaborative law. She is currently a member of the Family
Law Sections of the American Bar Association, Maryland Bar Association, Montgomery
County Bar Association, Women's Bar Association of Montgomery County, and the
District of Columbia Bar Association.
